Art Contact was engaged at very short notice to arrange a community art programme working with the pupils at the City School for Girls to produce some bright, colourful panels to be incorporated in the hoardings surrounding the Mace construction site at 21 Moorfields.
Art Contact engaged Sue King, the well known glass artist, to work with the children from years 5 and 6 at the City School for Girls to create 6 painted panels to be fixed to the hoarding around the construction site. The theme chosen was ‘Construction in the City’. There was only one day available for this project but working in teams in Moor Lane under the guidance of Virginia Grub of Art Contact, Joyce Onode of Mace and Sue King the children produced a series of outstanding colourful and imaginative artworks.
These outstanding panels will form the Mace entry into the 2018 Ivor Goodsite Hoarding Competition. We at Art Contact wish the entry good luck when it comes time for the judges to decide.
